Woooooo

Hey everyone!

First off.. shout out to my sis because she just got home today!  yayy..... Attatched is a pic.  But for those who are at home make sure she doesn't go on a date until I get back... haha just kidding. :)

This week was great.  The work in a way is getting a little easier as I get to know more the people here, the area, and how to work.  We had a few great lessons with members, especially with a mom and her son who is 24.  But he has already read the bible, and we have him the Book of Mormon on wednesday, and by saturday he was already in Jacob. WOOT!

We were able to visit an elderly couple investigators this week and they are just funny.  When we went to visit last week, the grandpa was walking with a cane.  But when we went on tuesday he was walking with a skip in his step and I just thought it was funny.. he went to church yesterday for the 2nd time, has a lot of questions and knows the bible really well.  It was fun teaching him because I could ask... 'we would like to share a scripture in John 3:16...' and he was repeat the scripture from memory.  So that is fun.

We had so many plans so that our investigators would come to church yesterday, and about 6-7 said that they were going to be there.. but at the end only 1 showed up.  But we already have plans for next week.

I am very grateful for this ward, and for the members and their help.  I know I have said this before, but the work will progress a ton in this area with the help of the members.

News update... I cut my hair today.. that's about it..

Love you all, have a great week!

EXITO!

Hey everyone!  So this week was super great.

Starters...
We had divisiones!! I got to be in my area with Hna. Enriquez (we were comps in Lazaro), but we got to stay in my area and had a lot of success!! We were able to find 3 new investigators, and the lessons with super well.  Then on Sunday two of them went to church on sunday. WOO!

We had a cool experience when we went to visit a sister in the ward who for 2 years hasn't invited the sisters to come and eat because of some of the past missionaries... as of years.  But we were able to go with her and meet her kids.  We found out that she had cut her thumb, but was making cookies for Teacher's Day.  So we offered to help her, because I actually really like making cookies... and she accepted!  It was great talking to her, and as we left she offered us some of the cookies we had made, and then she said that she was going to note in the calendar to feed us.

We went and visited a less active yesterday, and actually have a meeting to eat with her tomorrow.. :)  But it turned out super well, because She has been inactive for a super long time.  But we met her friend a few weeks ago who isn't a member and has had a really rough life.  Yesterday in the lesson she told us that she knew a lady who before was a bad person... but met someone who was Mormon, and now is completely a different person, and assists the chapel and she could see that the church changes lives.  So she wants to invite her friend to church so that she can also change.

There are a few more stories.. but with these two I am good.  Haha, But right now I feel very blessed to be here in this ward.  The members are so kind and want to participate in the work.  I just feel like I sometimes can't control it all.. or better, utilize all of the priviledges this ward has.  But the area is getting better as my comp and I are meeting more people, and gaining the trust of the members.

I hope you all have a great week!!!!

And shout out to my sis who finishes her mission this week.. YAY! :)

Love you all!

New apartment :D

Hey everyone!
So shout out to all the mothers- happy mothers dad yesterday!!! I enjoyed talking to everyone.. well my family.  haha that was the best part.
This past week hasn't been too busy because we have had to spend a lot of time with the old house, finishing the contract and everything... and then looking and signing a new contract for the new house.  But everything is good!  Yay for a new house!
Today I was studying about personal revelation.  And in PMG it said a part that I would like to share... if I remember it well.  Basically it said that God loves us all as his children, and he wants the best for us.  Because He wants us to be happy he gave us the revelation, but the only way we can receieve this revelation, or the answers to our prayers is through our personal scripture study.  I know that for whatever situation we find ourselves in, if we read the scriptures, He will answer us.
This next week should be pretty good.  Oh, and yesterday one of our investigators went to church with her husband and son, even though we couldn't visit her this week.  Woohoo!
Have a great week everyone!
Love,
Hermana Zimmerman

Happy Mother's Day!

Hola!
Hey everyone, so this week I don't have much time... but we had a great zone conference on Friday, and my comp and I got to talk a little bit about our purpose as missionaries, relationed with 'love and work'.  And really, our jobs as missionaries can be 'work'.  But the reason we are missionaries is because we love the people, but even more, we do it because we love God.  I also remembered when I had decided to serve a mission, and one of the reasons was because I wanted to serve God.  And show Him that I really loved Him.  I know that everything I do as a missionary, and just as myself, is how I am showing my Heavenly Father that I love him.  So I will be working a little bit harder this week!

We had a cool little miracle trying to work with the members.  On sunday we passed around a calender so that the sisters could put their names down so that they can accompany us in the lessons, and for the past 2 weeks we had gotten down about 3 names for the whole month.  But yesterday we got to re-introduce the calendar and talk about how the sisters are going to be there to help our investigators have a conversion, and be strong in the church.  We re-passed the sheet around and we had a lot more sisters sign up.  WOOHOO!

Today we had a fun zone activity, playing volleyball, dodgeball, and of course there was pizza.

Fun fact- I took my first hot shower in 6 months on thursday.  YES! and my comp and I ate a whole pizza and a 2 liter soda on saturday.

Love you all, have a great week, and FELIZ DIA DE LAS MADRES!!!
