I Caught the Wave! (the Call)

I opened my call the day I got back from college!!  I never expected Mexico, but I couldn't be more excited to leave in April.

For me the decision to serve was not an easy one.  I have a twin sister who decided to go when the mission age change happened.  She has now been out since November 13, 2013 in the Scottsdale, Arizona mission!  She has been a great example to me; but no, she is not the reason I chose to go.

In a way, I fought myself for a couple months while I was deciding what to do.  I had a wonderful semester up at Utah State University, I made some of the best friends I could have asked for.  One day I was at a church event of some sort and heard the song "I'll Go Where You Want Me To You".  Ever since that day I realized that I can, and want to go.

One of the things I love most about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the core belief of charity.  I kept thinking "what can I do to serve the Lord?"  Duh!  A mission.  After that I still fought it, but knew it was the right thing to do.  I turned in my papers and received my call to the Mexico Guadalajara East Mission leaving April 2, 2014!!  So here I am, ready and willing to serve.

It may not be on the mountain height
Or over the stormy sea,
It may not be at the battle's front
My Lord will have need of me.
But if, by a still, small voice he calls
To paths that I do not know,
I'll answer, dear Lord, with my hand in thine:
I'll go where you want me to go.

I'll go where you want me to go, dear Lord,
Over mountain or plain or sea;
I'll say what you want me to say, dear Lord;
I'll be what you want me to be.

I'll go where you want me to go, I'll say what you want me to say, I'll be what you want me to be.
